We've had Jasper about 7 months now. When we first got him his chest was bare of feathers. He still had down but no feathers. Well, he had one feather in the middle of his chest. I thought it was cute. It reminded me of a when a teenager get his first chest hair. But look at him now! He's got a bunch.

I do have a question about his back feathers. I don't see his back feather very often because he usually has his wings covering them. It looks like he's missing the top layer of feathers? It's definitely feathered, not down, but they're a very light almost white color. Not the color of his wings. Do they grow at different time than his chest? Or is that the color they're supposed to be.

I'm still figuring out what kind of relationship he wants to have. It's not what I had originally envisioned. I knew Grey's weren't the snuggle bugs but thought that I would at least be able to hold him and pet him some. He still lowers his head for me to pet him but then before I can, beaks me. I'm starting to give up on the petting and just go in to be beaked. I know he likes me because when I don't give him as much attention, the next day he's a little testy with me. He does seem to enjoy to be left alone on his play gym and just talked to.
