Timneh is afraid of all new toys just about, but if she isn't suppose to have it shes fine with it. LOL She'll grab a broom handle, attack, a remote, dismantle a keyboard, and try to grab anything in my hands thats not hers. give her a new toy or perch and its too scary and she has to hide behind Dad. Not sure how she decides whats dangerous and whats not. One of her favorite games is stealing a key from my keyboard and see how long she can keep me from getting it back. She is very good at this game. Its a toss up if I'll get it back intact. She waits till I'm not looking and dives for it. I love her little birdie growl when she gets into it. She pretty much squaks at me its so cute she gets so determined. Scared her on accident tonight she was playing on the couch with me and she was on my lap and I got a pinch on my thigh unexpectedly and I yelped pretty loud. She did a small lap around the living room and came right back to me. startled me more than actually hurt me. I feel awful when I do that, probably scares the crap out of her but sometimes they get you when you least expect it and you can't help but make a yip.

HAHA She got the a button when I stopped typing and was watching the tv she decided to start preening herself on the corner of the table and as soon as my guard was down she ran and grabbed it. Its a little damaged now but I got it back lol. Think its almost time for a new one shes gotten 26 keys now.

god I would be extremely unimpressed if my keyboard were to be munched. It cost me over £200 so not an easy replacement. May not be the nicest thing for the yip but it is her fault. Should teach her quickly that she gets a spook when she does a nip like that

The Big Clue: IF you are using, enjoying, involved with IT - she will want it! I think you may have found a way to introduce new toys to her! Make them yours, first!!! :D

The next perch I'm going to be using first alright. Maybe I'll pretend to dust with it for awhile. Has anyone used the bee pollen perches or the other calcium enriched ones. I have one of each but they are still in quarantine, on the table next to her house. Going to try just natural wood perch next. I want to get something more flat and I thought this big clam shell calcium and minerals perch was perfect. kind of thought a clam shell shape was odd but perfect size for Timneh. Hopefully in a few more weeks I can get her to accept it.

Tsali - African Grey- I am a one parrot parent. It's a full time job keeping Tsali healthy and happy.
Sometimes it is very difficult, but we have to learn to think like a bird. Most of the time, I am not smart enough. If it we're Tsali, I would lay claim to EVERYTHING with a particular interest in "former" toys which all of a sudden became my most treasured items not to be shared. Heck, I'd bring out the clicker and treats and click/treat myself for playing with them. Tsali would be completely ignored, but would have access to what I was doing and could choose to participate if he chose to do so.
