I haven't been around since school started because I picked up teaching an extra class and have been way too busy. It's been almost a year since Jasper came into our lives. He's changed so much. He's let his chest feathers grow back in but I've noticed that he's shredded the edges of some of them. Some have seemed to fallen out or maybe he's plucked them. He's starting to get more comfortable. I'm able to bring him into the kitchen in the morning when I make his breakfast. He plays on the counter. He's found where I keep his nuts and spends his time trying to get into the covered bowl. He's pretty successful. He's getting down off his cage more. Unfortunately, he seeks out trouble. He's fine for about 10 minutes then he searches out our little 4 pound chihuahua Annie. He bullies her into leaving her her bed. As soon as I see him heading her way, I head him off. He gets put on his play gym. Lucky for me, he hasn't figured out a way to get off that without flying to his cage first. The other day he was on his cage, I went into my bedroom to put away some laundry. A few minutes later, I heard my daughter talking to him from the bathroom. That was HUGE. The hallway is a NO GO zone for him. I would love to be able to move him from the living room to my bedroom. I didn't think it would be possible but now it just may be.

On another note, the lady that at the rescue that I got Jasper from has gotten lung disease and can no longer run the rescue. She's got to move all the birds asap. I've kept in contact with her this past year. She called me and asked if I could foster any of them for a few months until she found homes. I'm going to Texas to see my Dad next week. When I get back, I'm going to foster a Blue and Gold macaw. Lulu was there when I adopted Jasper a year ago. I visit the rescue every couple of months and bring Lulu treats. We hit it off but I had no parrot experience and wasn't ready to adopt a macaw. I feel a bit devious because I'm hoping that my family will fall in love with her and we can adopt her. I think my husband is aware of my plan because he keeps saying who is going to adopt a half naked parrot? She's fully feathered except for her chest, she has a single yellow feather. I'm going to have to learn a new language. I hope I'm a quick learner or it could be painful. :)

Take the time to read Birdman666 Threads in the MAC Forum, but also in the other Forums (like Training as an example). His understanding of MAC's will be of great help to you.

Yaaa, us guys may not be the brightest light bulbs, from time to time, but we generally pick-on on some of the motive driven things you ladies play on us! :D

Enjoy!
