Maui and KiKi have become best buds, I was a little nervous about this at first, I thought perhaps I would no longer be needed by my sweet boy. As it turns out, they BOTH still love me just as much as before, but also get to enjoy interactions with each other as birds.:orange::grey::):):)

I LOVE it, because all Maui had before to teach him things, was me, and I'm not very good at "bird talk & walk". So they both get the best of both worlds. Here are a few pictures of my sweeties...

Enjoy!

Stunning
she's really brightly coloured for such a young sun I'm suprised

Glad things are going so well between them. Just bare in mind that sexual maturity has yet to hit and we don't want bonded birdies when that happens

All else though your doing great and can't wait for the next Maui video of hello and wings up
;) ;)

Looks like Kiki's gonna steal your little boy away if your not careful :09:....lol, hope its just as easy to seperate them when you move as it was to introduce them, you may be buying your mom a new sun and taking Kiki with you :11:

Thank you everyone! They really are quite cute together. And believe me, I've thought about how it will go once my hubby and I move to another place around the first of the year. I think we will have to gradually separate them for longer and longer periods of time, if that doesn't work, then lots of play dates and if that doesn't work, hmm, I guess KiKi will have to come live with me. LOL Silly me, I hadn't even considered that, but I also hadn't considered they would take to one another so easily and quickly!!!

aww they lovey each other :) how did you introduce them?

I held Maui on my hand and allowed him to look at KiKi from a little bit of a distance. He couldn't wait to investigate, so finally allowed him to sit on top of her cage with her, she instantly started trying to crawl underneath him, as if she were trying to get warm or be protected by him. He didn't really have a CLUE what she was doing, but was very tolerant, then she started trying to get Maui to regurgitate for her, LOL, but Maui again had no idea what she was trying to do, backing off and giving her the "one eye" like "whoaaa, what is wrong with this chic", (lil pun on words there, lol)
But he remained calm, sweet and gentle and they just hit it off beautifully.

Yes, although I'm afraid they've already bonded quite nicely, Maui has a good while before that happens as I would assume KiKi as well. They won't be living with each other by then, but will get some play dates here and there. ;)

This inspires me to the good side of getting a second bird.

SURE!!! I think there's always a good side to having more than 1 bird.
