I have not done an update on Bella for a while.
Mostly because she has not been looking her best. I think the introduction of Luna into our flock upset her.

She has started letting her feathers grow in so I snapped a picture of her this morning.

There is a new problem for Bella that I fear will be even more upsetting than a new Amazon in the family.
A pair of ravens is making a nest in the palm tree in the back yard of my next door neighbor.
Bella likes to sit in the window and that window give her a perfect view of the ravens as they bring sticks and branches in to construct there nest.

If it was not for Bella I would enjoy watching the Ravens as they build there nest and raise there babies but they scare her. When she sees them she flys off and is very jumpy. She does not need this kind of stress.

My Cockatiels won't like this. I can keep them from seeing the birds but just hearing them can make them go crazy

Only thing I can think of is to block the window or put something in the window to keep her from landing there.

Bella is still talking up a storm. She now imitates Luna.
She imitates Luna saying "hellooo" and "sooo cute" and of course imitates Luna's scream (at a much lower volume).

I have been sick all last week with whatever it is that's going around.:10:
Hope to make 1 or 2 more updates later today.
stay tuned.

Amazon among others sell window cling film that is transparent with a light -defracting pattern, like a fresnel lens. It lets light in, but you can't really make out details through it. Maybe just enough to cover the glass where Bella can't see out, but you can?

And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
Compared to real early post's Wes...Ms Bella has come a bazillion miles. .,something your whole flock should be very proud of :D

It's odd with Greys really...being so timid and frightened of the silliest things.
Amazon's always seem to be saying "I'll BITE!!"

I'm with Jim... Bella is coming along!

Would you consider moving the cage, even temporarily, until the ravens are finished?

If the Raven's nest is not completed and your neighbor agrees, you could remove it. It will take several times, but they will move on.

Bella's cage is not in line of sight to the nest sight.
When she is out of her cage she likes to sit in the window and look out. That's when she sees the Ravens building the nest.

The nest is too high up to get to.

I like Kentuckienne's idea. I have to measure the size I will need but just putting it in the window will discourage her from landing there.

I think Bella is coming along, Wes. But those ravens have that poor baby worried. Me , Id get them to move on, they can always find another place, Bella owns the view from HER window.

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
Bella looks so much better!! No doubt the ravens are upsetting, instinct is difficult to ignore!

Bella looks like she is really coming along so well done. Im all for live and let live so id try (and probably fail) to

1. Sit with Bella and watch the Ravens, maybe this would relax Bella and not think of them as a threat. Ive done a similar thing with Enzo and the hoover, she is now much less distressed by it.
2. If that doesnt work, go for the window film
3. If that doesnt work, move Bella.

Personally id not be happy about moving the ravens on. They are only doing there thing.

Sitting with her is a really good idea but...

Let me try to describe the window in question.

There is a sliding glass door in the dining room. Above the sliding door maybe 5" or so is a window sill that runs parallel to the sliding door and goes the entire length of the door.

The window sill is where Bella (and sometimes Bingo) sit to watch the world go by.

So the window sill must be about 7' in height. There is just no way a chair would work.

I do have a step stool in place by the sliding door (this door is never opened). So I could stand there and look out the window with her.
I may give this a try but I just cant stand there for as long as Bella is willing to sit and watch.

It may be that the Raven couple have changed there mind about moving in. I have not seen as much activity and I have seen (other)Ravens taking/removing some of the branches from the nest. I have not seen new material being brought in.

Hopefully this has sorted itself out then :) easy!

for interest, id struggle the same as you unless I could have seen the ravens and her on my shoulder. I think Enzo definitely gets reassured when she sees that I am not alerted by something..
