Timneh has been very interested in the shower the last few weeks and I’ve been giving her hand showers. Just pouring a little water over her and today I turned the water pressure way down and she had a full shower. Pretty soon I think she will have a regular shower. One question is that she seems to be drinking a lot of the water so her venting after the shower is almost all water than she seems to get back to normal. Is this ok?

My Ollie used to drink as much water and his little gullet would hold during showers and much the same he'd poop pure water for a few poops afterwards and go back to normal. He has since decided that drinking water is lame during a shower and his craw is not full of water after the shower like it used to be. However, he still has watery poops afterwards! My theory is that he absorbs some of the water through the skin. It happens with my other bird Finley too even though he isn't drinking the water (he never has). Weird right? I think it's normal...my vet says it's fine when I ask her about it as long as they don't throw up the water.

Thank you that is strange but they do have almost a bunch of straws sticking out of them. Must be a strange sensation.

excellent, i wish Enzo would shower. As for passing mostly fluids, i dont worry when enzo has her morning cup of tea she passes it a few minutes later.

One thing I have become very cognizant of is my CAG poop. My avian vet has told me time and time again, as long as their poop returns to what the normal look should be then don't worry about the occasional odd looking poop. The slightest thing can throw off the color or texture of these bird's droppings for the short term.
