Bella has been doing very well in the last few months. She is still learning new words all the time and behaving good with a few exceptions.

Bella wont step up for my Son when she is in her cage. In the very beginning I had this problem to but I felt above all else she had to learn that when I needed her to come out she just HAD to step up. With a bit of work I was 90% successful. I now let her have her own way if my need for her to come out is not urgent or important but she does step up for me. She just wont step up for my Son, not while she is in her cage. When out of her cage she will step up for my Son without a problem.

I have had some success target training her to fly to my shoulder. Most of the time this is to take her into the shower with me or to put her back in her cage before I go to work.

Talking.
One day while she was sitting in the window she said H E L P--- H E L P in a very odd deep gravely sounding voice. Not sure where she got this from, it could be something left over from her previous owner. My wife has sometimes called for HELP when Bella decided to land on my wife’s shoulder. But my wife does not have a deep gravely.

I went out of my way to teach her to say something and I have to give some background. There is a CAG on Youtube named Einstein. The owner does regular updates that I have been following and I guess she likes to refer to him as her “Red Butt Chicken”. One of the videos she has uploaded is a bunch of clips of Einstein saying “Red Butt Chicken” and “Red Butt Corn” and a few other things. It was LOL funny:D so I thought I would try to teach Bella to say that. It took about 5 days of me saying “Red Butt Chicken” before Bella started repeating the phrase. So without further ado her is a short video clip that has Bella saying Red but chicken at the end.

Bella photos

I meant to post some photos I took this month but I just now pulled them of the camera so here they are.

In this one I managed to capture her in mid speech.

She has now started to modify and play with the phrase { red butt chicken} and said {red butt kiss}. I wonder if she is trying to tell me to kiss her a__ I mean bottom. :p
