A bird with worms

Came across this on the internet very interesting, some people thought birds do not get worms.

It was about 10cm long, colour of spaghetti but about 1mm in diameter. we could not see a head but definitely ribbed body all along... If we didn't see it when she pulled it from her bum we would never have known or expected she had worms.

It's not impossible for birds to get worms. It's just much less common than it is for dogs and cats, at least in the US. I've heard that worms are a more common issue for birds in Africa.

I will continue to de-worm Mishka annually, next one in January 2011

That is one reason I wanted an Eclectus because the Female is different from the Male...

Abby just turned 6 months old on Nov 12.. so I will be taking her to the Vet in Jan so she will be 8 months old...

I have been working with her to get her in the kitchen with me but she gets nervous, you can see her breast shaking and her eyes get real big and she will fly to her cage... I know she will get better as time goes by,
