Maverick - BFA (hatchdate: 05/04/2016)
This is a long one, my apologies!!
There is a question buried in this post in bold at the bottom!

I know we've been away from the forum for a while, but we're back and with another little family member! Meet Vicktoria, we are calling her Tori (among her many other names that we will come up with like "little girl" and "vicky vicky", etc etc etc)

Our first family photo when we met her:

When we finally got to bring her home (sorry IDK how to rotate!):

Her first 'field trip' not counting bringing her home:

Now that we've had her for a while, we've started working on introducing her and Maverick to each other. Just a reminder that Mav is our 2.5 year old BFA. His cage got quite beat up on our move from Georgia to New York, so we got a new cage for them both. It's a double cage, and we've rigged up a solid divider between the two sides so they can hear each other and see each other when they're each out, but do not currently see each other when they're in their cages. It seems to have helped a lot with disorienting Maverick enough that he had to get used to his new set up and not react territorially. He loves it now, seeing as it is much bigger and he now gets to have his boing and swings inside his cage with room to swing!

Introductions have gone smoothly thus far and they both seem to tolerate each other so far, so we've progressed as they've allowed us to. We've been sharing food with them (banana's, papaya treats, etc), playing next to each other, giving cuddles to each of them...so far so good.

Maverick is very vocal and talks ALOT! He even learned to sneeze this week as I've had a mild cold ("ah-CHOOOO"). Tori has mostly made squeaks and whistles, but I could SWEAR she told me "give me a kiss" the other night when I put her back into her cage. That's our routine with Mav, so I'm not sure if she has already picked it up from him or it was just coincidence. Either way, I've caught her muttering quietly multiple times so I'm very excited to see how her vocabulary progresses seeing as she's only 5 months old!!

My rant ends with a question:
How does the next part of introducing them to each other go? What red flags should I look for, and what would be good signs of them getting along and/or wanting to play?

I've mostly kept the two apart physically, and when they're out together on the playstand I've directed them away when they get too close to one another. I've aimed for shared space, but respectful personal bubbles. Today, I allowed them get a little closer to one another on their own terms. They both seemed interested in each other, but not aggressive. They touched beaks and I admit I got nervous!! Mav started bouncing his head up and down, Tori didn't really move. Neither got fluffy or pulled the "big bird" routine. I figured that was enough progress for the day, but they disagreed. I guess once they touched it kinda unlocked that barrier? Mav started climbing all over the top of the playstand (Tori hasn't figured out how to get up there yet) and Tori watched him very intently. Again, they started to go for the beak touch and Mav started getting fluffy. With him being above her, I got nervous and called it off. I asked Mav to step up first and he did, then I asked her and she did. I walked them back to their cages and they both went in and started on dinner.

Last photo of them sharing treats tonight before everything:
