Hard to say, there's a lot of stuff out there that's not even ok for the dogs. Check ingredients and with your CAV before giving much to your bird. I would err on the side of no.

Unfortunately this label shows exactly why we have so many health issues with our companions. When you see red 40 yellow 5 or any combination do not give this to your friend , I have friends that are cancer survivors that have had their doctors tell them that these absolutely contributed to their heath issues and cancer . These manufacturers only care about their profit , dont be fooled.

Currently I have none, but I have the capacity to adopt a minimum and maximum of two budgies - preferably a bonded pair or two males.
Most processed dog foods are not good even for dogs.

Best food for dogs , from what I have heard from many dog keepers is raw organic red meat.

They have more immunity to the germs than us and it provides them better nutrition.

Yes , but if you do go raw diet additional calcium is necessary. Please do your research when making any changes to your companions diet. Most importantly dont feed this processed garbage.

All are rescues- had to leave their previous homes for 'reasons', are still in contact with them :)
A propper raw diet includes bones and cartilage as well, so why add calcium?

There isn't nearly enough calcium in the bones to satisfy what they need. Plus they typically eat less as digestion takes longer as the bones break down. A dogs stomach acid is about 15 times stronger than ours too so its why they typically dont get sick if they get a hold of road kill or a dead critter in the yard. There's many good articles online but a word of caution always do your homework because there's just as many bad articles or mis-information on this subject . I am in no way an expert in the field but through good advice have had great success getting my dogs off the processed waste they want us to feed them and on to what they should be eating for a fraction of what they charge for a bag of kibble. No it isn't nearly as convenient as pouring a cup of kibble in the dogs bowl but once you have a system in place its amazing to see how much happier and content they are. Also know that your vet isn't going to recommend Raw, it doesn't help him in his practice as he won't see your dog as much as he'd like and for the problems associated with kibble. Also most are not dieticians and many push Science diet as this product helped them get through vet school. Raw is what God intended for dogs not the manufactured convenience to us , kibble. Its not a difficult choice and just like with our parrots if your not willing to give them what they need ,maybe more thought needs to be put into why you own a companion. Hope this helps anyone thinking of going raw diet.
