So my wife (Bella's chosen person) has been gone for about 3 weeks.
Today for the first time when we were taking a Red Butt Shower she wanted scratches and started regurgitating for me.:D

It's not that I mind my wife being her favorite person but my wife has beak-a-phobia and does not want Bella to get too close.

Another thing is that she has been snapping at me when I feed her. I can take out and put in her food and water dishes no problem. But when I latch and unlatch the dish door on the cage my fingers are vulnerable and she has nipped me a few times.
I am guessing it's due to her raging hormones of puberty.

I have a video of Bella in the bathroom window talking and banging her beak against the window. Alas I have no time cuz I have to go to work. I try tomorrow.

Good Lord; a Red Butt following a belief system of Amazons: If You Can't Love The One You Love! Love The One You're With!!!

FYI: When the dear Wife returns home. Take care that the Red Butt does carve you a new one just to prove to her that the Bonded Love is Still there... :D

LOL- What a "thirsty" bird (as my students would say) hahah!

That's funny/exciting.

Don't encourage that regurgitation though and tell your wife the same when she gets home and ruins your new-found "bliss" ;) haha

So here is a clip of Bella in the bathroom talking.
The thing I have been trying to record and finally managed it on this clip.
She has her own version of Amazon speak (grey speak) but it is with a purpose.
What she is actually imitating is someone leaving a message on our answering machine. Her normal "message" consists of a lot of mumbles with a clear word stuck in here and there for variety and ending with the beep of the answering machine.
In this clip you will hear her version of a "message" right after you hear her cough. She left out the beep.:59:

Enzo - adopted Female CAG circa 2004. A truly amazing young lady!
Enzo does the mumble phone talk too, along with phrases she knows... its good that she is loving you too now.

QQ, when she regurgitates, does she have her wings pulled into her body? If so, im sure that is her telling you that she is really, really happy. If her wings are out and lowered then thats hormonal.

I have been away for 4 days on a short break and when i returned Enzo was doing this (wings tight to body) every time i interacted with her, happy little girl.

Her wings are close in to her body.
What happens is she bows her head as if asking for scratches. When I start to give scratches she lifts her beak and forces my fingers underneath her beak. When my fingers are under her beak she starts making the head/neck movements for regurgitation. When she does this I have been telling her thankyou and taking my had away.
I Know it's not good to encourage that behavior and so far she has never actually brought up food.:vomit-smi

By popular demand (and my wife's request) I have uploaded another Bella video.
Volume is low due to distance.
She leaves a "message" including the beep this time.
Askes for a shower 2x.
other miscellaneous noises.

very cute! What squeaky bird is he imitating? I haven't heart that squeaky sound at the end in that pattern from a Grey before (I mean...yeah, squeaky sounds..) but that sounded almost like a different bird.

My Cockatiels.
It’s the most annoying thing she does.
It’s about 3x the volume as it should be.

LOL I wondered--- it was down to that or a budgie. Greys are awesome..I love how they are so straight-faced...The shower line was particularly adorable.

Yeah, that to me sounds like a very happy little girl, well done. She clearly is loving spending time with you.

What a little chatterbox, Wes. All those beeps and whistles! Does Bella do that constantly?
Dont get me wrong, Salty does his share of annoying sounds and calls, but he's mostly quiet all day. Its only when Chef 'Geri starts prepping dinner that he goes to town.

Golden op to improve the relationship w/Bella, just make sure lots n lots of treats are involved.
