I need to get a couple. The one we have is great for the Quaker, but it can't hold the CAG.

With all the crazy going on, I can't see what they're like for myself, so I'm hoping I can get some ideas here.

Cheers!

The most common have cups that squeeze tight against the surface and holds it in place. For Quaker's the cups are medium in size and likely only need a couple. But with a CAG, their greater weight and body size require that the perch sits further from the surface and need at least three large cups of size to hold the perch in place in a tee formation.

Commonly, they are made of plastic pipe to keep the overall weight down.

Note: All such perches fail at some point, commonly dumping your Parrot! The surface needs to be very smooth and flat. Removed and cleaned at least every other week, both the surface and the cups.

Warning: Even if you keep a regular schedule, at some point, the perch will drop your Parrot.

For about $15 you can make a shower one from pvc at thelocal hardwarestore, if you dont epoxying it to the shower walls. I mae one that fits into the corner, using 45deg elbow, 10" of straight, and 2 end caps.
PVC pipe and some epoxy. wrap with vet tape.

I thought about making one, and know it's simple. The PVC is simple to cut, but I couldn't find the suction cups. And as the hardware stores are closed I can't see the cups. So, I may have to buy one.

I thought about Amazon, but here in Canada, a lot of things are taking a month to deliver.

Ontario closed the Hardware Stores!?!?

Heck, what are the DIY'ers doing when the toilet guts fail!!! Or any number of household stuff that dies when you need them the most!!!

If I recall, when I made one a long while ago, I cut slots in the plastic pipe and slide the cups in the slots. Is that what you did Al?

Wow, Ontario is going overboard! The toilets will be failing all over Ontario. That could turn into a very stinky issue! :D

Do you have an extra tension-rod shower-curtain rod? I keep an extra one overhead longwise in my shower, I have hangers on it so I can hang up clothes to dry.

I also keep a few hangars on the tension rod that has the actual shower curtain. My Sunny likes to climb on the hangers while I'm in there. When I shower she will spend a little while on the hangers from the rod that are in the tub.

I used to keep one of her Spiral Perches clipped onto a pants hanger which I would hang in there, that's how it got started. You could try something like that!

Otherwise IF you have an extra bathtub tension-rod you could install it (inside the tub at a somewhat lower height than your actual curtain) and your bird could use it as a perch, temporarily, until your hardware stores open back up again.

I also have a couple of large parrot ladders. One of them, I originally got with intention of standing it up in the tub for Sunny to use as a showering perch. I never used it that way, as shortly after I'd gotten it she began climbing on the hangers preferentially. I still think it would've worked well. Do you have any furniture or ladders you could re-purpose for in-shower use in that way, temporarily? (or permanently)

Just because you plan to have something inside the shower, does Not haveto attach to wall. You could creatively use something freestanding. For example my Sunny's favorite perch in my bedroom, is a cheap wooden, folding clothes drying rack. Mine is too big & too flimsy, but a smaller & more heavy-duty version could work for you.

Or what about a wooden chair you're not attached to? Some such type thing you can creatively MacGyver into a temporary wet-stand for your Gray.
