Our birds are so intelligent

I was busy cleaning our apartment yesterday, Mishka was on the balcony having a breath of fresh air. I brought him in later, when it got a bit overcast. Much later on I heard weird sounds, asked my son Sean, what in heavens name was that? , Mishka screams Mommy it's raining, the boom booms are coming now. I go into the lounge and guess what it had just started raining AND we did have a thundershower with big boom booms.

Mishka you are so so smart. He is able to give you a weather forcast. Last night I was taking a bath in the tub and had Rosie with me on her stand. She was interested in all the water. She actually said "big water". Now that shows some thinking on her part.

Whatever we say, our birds listen and learn, all the time.

I am a big believer, in talking to Mishka nonstop. Whatever I am doing, I tell him, saying small words.

When I see the weather is getting overcast I tell him, the boom booms are coming now, its going to rain.
When it starts raining I tell him again, and say it's raining, the boom booms are coming now.

All our birds are intelligent. I bet there are many different thing other birds do, that Mishka has not even thought of yet......

People think that dogs are super smart but birds can even TELL you how smart they are! They can associate words with objects or events just like a small child does when he/she is learning to talk. To me the phrase "bird brain" is a compliment!

Nice. I will let Skyler sit on the couch once he is potty trained. But my mom's dog and my brother's dog will not be getting on the couch!!! lol. Abby is so pretty!!!
I cannot wait.

My macaw learned to put words in a sentence. We busted out laughing... we've told him your a bad bird. So he said, "Im a bad bird, bad bad bird." We couldn't stop laughing. He calls each dog by name and feeds them. He can tell music from ring tone apart. I dunno how he does it, he would answer and say "hello" even when its on tv. He somehow knows it comes from a phone. He dance to dance music. Raise his wings and say "big eagle". He's one smart bird! He makes me laugh all the time when he chatters.
