My 3 yr old female african grey talks none stop all day and night, but the minute my husband walks in the room she goes silent, and will not utter even a squeak. Does anyone know why?
P.S she is not very friendly, she will bite everyone but me, even though we all feed her and chat to her.

Sounds like you have a one person grey. They can do that. There are threads you can look through on socializing birds. Can you step back some and let your husband care for her and clean the cage? Tell him to do it in such a way that he is not making much direct eye contact at first. He can give her treats. Have him do all the things you usually do if he is willing. It will take some time.

I must admit that i do most of the cleaning and feeding, but we do all share, my husbands chair is right next to her and she sits tweeting sweetly for him to feed her treats, but if he has nothing she wont even look at him, even after a treat she will attack him or anyone. Its the talking thing that gets me though, she'll chat happily with whoever in the room but silent when he is there.

She will talk when she feels safe and wants to. Not to much you can do about that. At night you can partially cover the cage to help her feel secure. Then the night talking will stop. Make sure she is getting quality sleep for about 12 hrs. That means she is in a room that is totally dark (night light ok) and void of sounds like TV, music or conversation. Some use a sleep cage for this.
