SO! I'm a first time birdie mom and I've been doing *quite* a bit of homework on conures (since that's what I've decided on) and I was wondering how many of you would be interested in a copy of what research I've compiled? I was talking to Sabbath and got the idea to do a little newsletter kind of thing just for the Conure forum :) This is the kind of stuff I do so it'd be no trouble to me at all! (Newsletters, brochures, all kinds of stuff!) I just need to know how many people would benefit or even be interested in it :) of course parrotforums.com would be in the newsletter <3

So far I have:

basic research
a basic shopping list
food do's and don't's
cage setups
training tips
games
general care
DIY toys

and I'm more than happy to accept any ideas and suggestions! as well as contributed research <3 thanks! :rainbow1:

:) I'd love some help with things that you can't really research enough. Things that you learn with time like mannerisms, favorite foods, great products you'd never think of, stuff like that :)

You already know I'm interested lol

I could throw in a first time hand feeders experience and some tips as I go along with it, not sure if that would help to many people though lol

That sounds wonderful! I can't really contribute anything yet, since I'm still new to birds in general, let alone my own conure. All I can really say is that he's awfully full of himself, but that goes along with what I read somewhere, that conures (green cheeks, at least) are "big birds in little bodies."

Also, I don't know if anyone's mentioned this or if you read it somewhere, but a good way to get them to try new foods is to either eat some of the food or act like you are. They'll get curious and wanna try it, too!

Hey! This sounds like a great idea! I don't have any birds anymore, but I've also been researching like crazy on green cheeks & conures in general. The one thing I've had trouble finding is how much does it cost to keep a conure? Not costs upfront like the bird & the cage etc, I mean costs monthly for food, toys, vet etc. Maybe you could ask around & put that in there? :D Just a suggestion tho. I'm always thinking money since I'm a (mostly) broke college student at the moment LOL but I somehow always manage to keep my dog, cat & fish tanks properly funded C;

I'll be looking out for the release of this 'newsletter' C:
