What does it mean when your bird rolls onto their back?

My sun conure did this today when we were laying down in my bed room. Does it mean anything bond wise? It was adorable if anything ^_^

Also, project weaning is going great! I had him on my chest and some pellets spread on my chest and he was munching around like crazy. He made a game out of it actually by making a bowl out of the dip in my throat and playing with the lifeguarding whistle.

It's def. a good sign. A bird on its back is very vulnerable. So he must feel very safe and secure in your presence if he voluntarily rolls on his back in front of you. It's also playful behavior. My GCC loves having his tummy and head scratched while he's on his back.

lol well he rolled onto his back when I had my eyes closed(or at least he thought they were closed) and when I tried to rub his belly he immediately tried to flip over.

Not the first time I've seen him like this before though ^_^ He is absolutely adorable! He was so hyper today.

Anyways, thank you all!

That's so neat to raise a baby. When our Benny lies on his back, his feet and beak are ready to cut and he's hissing.

I take it as a goo dsign of trust, as stated above, this is a very vulnerable position for birds. Even though he thought you were asleep and got up when you tickled him, the fact that he did it a all is a great sign.

Jade rolls on her back all the time. Depending on her mood she wants her tummy tickled, her feet ticked or to be cuddled like a baby.

My Bird was doing this while I was petting him and snuggling him, I'm guessing since its the same with most animals that its just a way of showing that they trust you. Honestly its adorable!:green2:

My baby tiki ( 5 month old Quaker) has been doing this for a few weeks, he is so cute when he does it. It’s a playful but cuddle thing .
