"Apple" Yellow-sided Green Cheeck Conure
Sorry, i'll be posting a bit since i'll be getting my second Parrot (no longer have first, long story.)

What is the best daily fruit and veggie mix for a Green Cheek? I don't have him yet but will be picking him up tomorrow evening. He is a one year old Yellow-sided Green Cheek. His favorite fruit is apples and sweet potatoe. I still need to ask a few more questions about his likes and dislikes but what do YOU think is best to give him on a daily basis. Also would like to know if I should go with a pellet type food or seed, what brand? Although Petsmart is not my first choice there is one about 5 minutes from here. Thank you!

For a staple diet, check out ZuPreem AvianEntrees Small Bird Garden Goodness. These pellets actually come with dried fruits and veggies. They're low on sugar and sodium and do not come with a bunch of added chemical junk. My green cheek loves these!

Ingredients
Ground corn, Soybean meal, Dried apples, Dried green peas, Ground wheat, Dried red peppers, Dried tomatoes, Dried green peppers, Wheat germ meal,Vegetable oil, Sucrose, Dicalcium phosphate, Calcium carbonate, Ground vegetables (carrots, celery, beets, watercress, spinach), Iodized salt,DL-methionine, Choline chloride, Ascorbic acid (source of Vitamin C), Natural mixed tocopherols, Rosemary extract, Citric acid, Manganous oxide, Zinc oxide, Copper sulfate, Calcium iodate, Sodium selenite,Vitamin

We also give him fresh broccoli on a regular basis (unlike most kids, he actually loves the stuff!), and bananas, apples, mangoes or strawberries a few times a week (you have to watch the sugar). I'm also currently looking for more vegie recopies = )

I feed my gcc pellets. (Curently pretty bird gold, as that's what he was weaned to). Seeds just as an occasional treat, because they are fatty. I mix up what fruits/veggies River gets each day, I think variety is good. :) Try out various veggies and fruits to see what she likes. I give veggies everyday, fruit not quite as much because of too much sugar.
