My little guy apparantly woke up in a bad mood this morning... I had him on my shoulder while I was putting stuff away in the kitchen and for some odd reason he felt like he needed to attack my face! He really got me good but not enough to break the skin. It really scared and freaked me out, made me really sad. I then told him "No biting." and put him back in his cage. I waited about 30 minutes and took him out again, he stepped up without hesitation but as soon as I sat down he attacked my hands and fingers but this time REALLY bit down. My first reaction without thinking was to tap him on the beak with my finger while saying "No biting!" he he definately did not like that. I didn't mean to do that and didn't tap him hard at all. Since then he was totally mad at me and puffed up at me anytime I got close to his cage, tried to bite if I came close. After that, I decided to just leave him alone during his moody day. I went to a birthday part most of the day and when I got home he was STILL upset which I totally understood. I sat next to him and told him I was sorry, lol! I just talked to him and explained why I was so upset with him and why he was in his cage (like he could understand what I was saying.) I did that for a while and then gave him a treat. Told him to step up, put him right on my shoulder and gave him some chew toys. :) I think he forgave me because he hung out with me like nothing had happened the rest of the evening. :D Silly bird. Leason learned on my part. Sorry Apple and I love you buddy!

I grab Lucy's beak and tell her "no!" in a stern voice and put her on the floor. She's not a fan of being there on her own.

lol i'd say keep apple off your shoulder for a while! to be safe. but i've never had that much luck keeping nut off mine when i wanted to, but it just stops bites to the face/eyes!

and yes i've knocked nut off my shoulder before, when she decided to maul it, for whatever reason. i'm not a fan of having her there, simply cos she will bite my face un expectantly, (very rare) but like birds in the wild squabble, with each other, so they will with us. and they get over it, as long as they have the time and space to do so

and you did right thing, in leaving apple in her cage, while in this mood, cos if you hadn't i've a strong feeling the bites would have got worse an you'd have got to a point where you'd be very wary of your bird, like i can be with nut. as nut is flighted, she will fly to me to bite me! but after our squabble's she's back to normal, and most important thing is not to continue with any ill feelings left over from initial squabble

Oh he would hate me if I did that, lol! I even tried putting him in his carrier since he hates being in there so much but it just seemed to anger him more. He really hurt my feelings. :( BUT like I said, he's on me right now like nothing happened.

Oh I know, he loves being up there though. I just feel really bad about tapping her beak, lol! Anyway, thanks you guys for your responses I just think he woke up in a bad mood that day. Good thing he isn't a larger bird! :D
