Bought the best toy today!

So today I picked up this toy for Rio
Newegg.com - Insight Activitoys Double Axis Mirrored Bird Toy Small

And he is in love with it! He has been sitting on it for awhile now and just can't figure out the mirror. He will spin the mirror, look around like "where did the other bird go?", spin it again, then the bird is there! Lol!

I attached some pictures of him playing on it and one of him sitting on his pinata.

Awwww! Love the pic of him in the pinata. I've got the mirror one too. I found it along with a couple others in the clearance bin at petco. Hurray for sale! :)

I have read that mirrors are not the best toy to have in the cage. Your bird will become attached to it, like it is another bird.

Thats what I read too. There was a blue crowned conure that was attached to his mirror at a bird rescue I visited.

I've read that too, but every time Tori has seen a mirror he just looks at it like "meh" and keeps going with what he was doing. His bell, on the other hand...


Those are some really cute pictures though. XD

I have the same toy in the budgie cage and they love it. I would leave it in the cage and just watch the birds behaviour if he developes a behaviour which you feel is negitave and a result of the mirror then remove it. But other wise I would leave it in with him

I know what you mean! I made Petrie a bell toy from a broken ponytail holder rubber band and an old bell from a broken toy and he will not leave it alone! He LOVES that thing! Best free toy EVER!

I forgot to give Tori his bell back one day after my weekly cage deep clean (Wash everything, dirty or not!) He was mad at me until I realized what I had done. Once I gave it back...all better. :) That thing is his prized possession.
