Hi Guys!

I finally managed to travel up to see the breeder I had organised and check out some babies on Sunday. My original plan was to place a deposit for either a baby cinnamon green cheek or sun conure since the original babies I wanted sold before we could get down there. I had done all my research... bought all my toys and set up the cage... but I wasn't prepared to meet a certain little mischievous face!

We got to play with some baby sun conures and check out the adult green cheeksā€¦ but then I was shown a young pearly conureā€¦ and omg he was so adorable and beautiful! To be honest, Iā€™d never even considered pearlyā€™s or seen them before, but they are gorgeous! The pictures Iā€™ve seen donā€™t do them justice.

The breeder got him out and I got to play with him and hold him a bitā€¦ he was just adorable. My options were either, wait til Christmas for a new babyā€¦ or take this little guy home instead. He was also half price since he hadnā€™t been bought yet and needed a little bit of time/attention to settle down again. I mean, how could I not take him home!?

So we bought him home instead and I am happy to report he has already settled inā€¦ his wings are not clipped so I am not game to start taming him down again until he gets them clipped (he is booked in with our local avian vet tonight) but already he is playing with his toys and eating adorably, and eating apple through the cage bars. He seems totally relaxed and happy already, and he LOVES his cageā€¦ I took out a lot of the toys and just left the bare minimal in there while he gets comfy, which he seems fine with.

I attached a pic of now named ā€˜Yoshiā€™ ā€¦ with more to come once he is able to come out of his cage! Isnā€™t he pretty!? I canā€™t wait to take some better photos showing off his beautiful feathers and long red tail.

Congrats! He truly is gorgeous! I'd never heard of Pearly's before this board and I thought they were stunning when I looked them up. Camera's really don't do justice to the beautiful colors these birds have!!

He is gorgeous! :)

His little "green cheeks" are a mix of green and turquoise/blue and his wings are BEAUTIFUL! They are the same bluey/greeny and then bright red underneath, it's the only red he has on him. I feel so mean cutting them but once he is tame again I will let him grow them out.

I've googled some photos of pearly conures and they really don't look half as pretty as they do in the flesh (... feather? lol) - they're so shiny, when you see them in the sunlight they're even prettier. He has such a sweet little personality too... I think they're like green cheeks. :)

Congrats, he is truly a very pretty little fella. Which breeder did you go with? The lady at Pyalong? Anyways, well done. Now the fun and games begin.

Thanks guys!

Yep I did get him from pyalong.

I've got some more photos! It's a bit hard to get him through the bars, but you can still see him a little bit. :)

He is getting his wings clipped tonight so I will hopefully be able to get a lot more nicer photos with him out and about!
