Hi Guys!
I finally managed to travel up to see the breeder I had organised and check out some babies on Sunday. My original plan was to place a deposit for either a baby cinnamon green cheek or sun conure since the original babies I wanted sold before we could get down there. I had done all my research... bought all my toys and set up the cage... but I wasn't prepared to meet a certain little mischievous face!
We got to play with some baby sun conures and check out the adult green cheeksā¦ but then I was shown a young pearly conureā¦ and omg he was so adorable and beautiful! To be honest, Iād never even considered pearlyās or seen them before, but they are gorgeous! The pictures Iāve seen donāt do them justice.
The breeder got him out and I got to play with him and hold him a bitā¦ he was just adorable. My options were either, wait til Christmas for a new babyā¦ or take this little guy home instead. He was also half price since he hadnāt been bought yet and needed a little bit of time/attention to settle down again. I mean, how could I not take him home!?
So we bought him home instead and I am happy to report he has already settled inā¦ his wings are not clipped so I am not game to start taming him down again until he gets them clipped (he is booked in with our local avian vet tonight) but already he is playing with his toys and eating adorably, and eating apple through the cage bars. He seems totally relaxed and happy already, and he LOVES his cageā¦ I took out a lot of the toys and just left the bare minimal in there while he gets comfy, which he seems fine with.
I attached a pic of now named āYoshiā ā¦ with more to come once he is able to come out of his cage! Isnāt he pretty!? I canāt wait to take some better photos showing off his beautiful feathers and long red tail.
