Does your conure not chew on stuff you make, but chew on stuff you'd rather him not?

ALL parrots do this! lol. Today Ida flew on top of the fridge and took the mentos I hid up there and tried to fly away with them. I caught her mid flight and took them and she just flew to her cage and gave me the look of evil. :)

I buy and make toys for my birds all the time. They enjoy them but at every chance they get they grab something and run with it. Just a couple of weeks ago i was filling out some papers and had my purse on the floor near my feet. My cockatoo got in it and took all of my pens out and hide them on top of here cage. Thank goodness she didn't bust them just hid them. My conure likes to get the kids toy cars lol.

oh...I thought this was a normal conure behavior?!?!?!? LOL! Rio is a turd...she is always after what she is not supposed to have! I think all the stuff that is sold for us to make toys is really a birdie conspirisy(sp) to keep us busy while they are on super secret missions to chew and steal stuff they are not supposed to have! HAHA

Nic Nic..."World's Quietest" Eleonora Cockatoo
I don't know about Conures, but my Nic Nic LOVES to chew...problem is, his "chew" toys are pretty low on his list of "awesome things to chew".

I already need to replace all of his perches, but his chew toys look like I could resell them as Brand New.

I do my best to keep him away from NON-bird items as much as possible, I am sure he would like nothing more than to get his hands...(er, beak) on my remotes, sunglasses and anything else UNbirdy.

Merlin a Red Crowned Amazon
Amazons too. Merlin loves pens. Anything in a drawer is forbidden so that is what he loves the most. This week he has destroyed the woodwork over our door, he caught me on the phone & did an amazing amount of remodeling in just a few minutes.

My conure is too much of a "velcro bird" as I call it. He will jump off the cage, walk across the floor and climb up me to get to my shoulder. He won't touch anything else.
My cockatoo, though, has decided that the rug is something to be torn up, so he tries and when I try to get him to stop, he gets a little attitude. He's obsessed with getting to that rug.

Female Dusky Conure (Kayak) Female Sun Conure (Carlisle) Female Budgie (Meister) Male Budgie (Spooky Burd)
My Sun destroyed wooden bookshelves and a window sill/frame. He's banned from anything that looks remotely like wood. My boyfriend has two pairs of glasses. One to wear while Carlisle is out because he somehow always sneaks a bite and one to wear anytime Carlisle is not out as the other pair has seen much better days. My Dusky loves to shred paper and she loves to chew on fabric. I have to make sure I'm not wearing anything nice when I have her out. I also always have an old ugly towel with me for her to chew on her. I guess she likes the thicker material of the towel because it's her favorite thing. She also chewed a hole in my favorite fluffy blanket. I've since replaced it and allow her to do what she wants to the old one. She hasn't gotten to the new one.

"Apple" Yellow-sided Green Cheeck Conure
It's SO annoying and yes Apple does it too... He'll chew on new toys for a bit then moves on to the jewelry on my face and ears. He LOVES to nibble on my tattoos and will try to get his beak on the keyboard, mouse, cords, buttons, and pretty much anything else. He also loves my bracelets.

That is so true! It seems that everything they like to chew are things that you tell them they can't hahahaah! This thread had turned out to be more fun that I thought it'd be! I didn't mention what my Yellow sided Green cheek conure "Kiwi" does. Believe it or not he actually chews on my fingers. I'm talking near the tips of my fingers to the side. He just loves to peel away the skin. This might sound like it hurts but he never goes past the hard parts of the skin and no flesh is exposed thanks God! Something that I've tried very hard form Kiwi not to do is chew the corners of my desk. My brother painted the desk black a year ago and I don't want him eating he paint. Lol he also trys to chew on my power cord for my laptop which I do NOT let him get away with. Keyboard cables, mouse cables, usb port cables etc lol! He also shreds the armrest of my chair which isn't wood but it's like a leather type fabric. He also try's to chew on my tooth brush as well haha. Oh and Kiwi absolutely LOVES to chew on toothpicks, these however are one of he only things I intentionally give him that he likes! lol. I'd love to hear more stories!

Oh and even if you don't have a conure. I couldn't figure out where to put this thread for this paticular topic so i figured that since i had a Conure this is where I'd put it. :)
