Getting a black cap!

So, I just talked to a guy that had an ad on craigslist for a black cap conure and we are going to meet little Billy Joe tomorrow and hopefully bring him home! I can't wait to go pick him up so we can spoil him rotten. Does anyone have any good info on black caps? First when I was looking them up it seemed like they were a type of GCC but then other stuff I read acted like they were an entirely different species. I have also been finding it hard to tell if it is black capped or black cap conure. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

I just saw a picture of the cage he is coming with and it is the same one Apple, PrettyInInks GCC has

I've never had an acrylic front cage before.

Lucy is a black cap conure. (cap, capped, same thing) she's LOUD! not as loud as a U2 or anything but she's shrill pitched. I love her to pieces though! I did an article thing on conures based on info i found in this forum and on the web, it's for beginners but it might have some good info in there for you. Lucy is 75 grams (aprox) BCC are slightly smaller than green cheeks and she's proving to be a BIG bird in an itty bitty package

That's so funny, everything I have been reading says that the BCC are one of the quietest conures, when I was on the phone with the guy he was giving me his address and I realized he lives in an apartment. I made the comment, oh is he pretty quiet then? The man just laughed and said no but his neighbors have never complained.

Apparently he is pretty friendly, he said that he says his name and a few other phrases. I am so excited! I can't wait to go get the little guy tomorrow

I wish I would have saved the picture he had on the ad so I could post it here but the ad is gone now

Yep it's the same one! I had completely convinced myself I wasn't going to hear back from him. He put in his ad that he wasn't asking anything for the bird so I figured he had already found someone, even though I emailed him only an hour after he posted. You put any kind of bird and the word free on craigslist and people go nuts lol. It kind of made me feel good that he said he had received a ton of emails but him and his wife liked me the best

All I did was tell him about myself and my bird experience. He is about an hour drive away from me and we are going to go get him tomorrow.

I have also read that they are closely related to the GCC and are one of the quietest conures.

Everything you have read about BCC noise is a lieeeee... bahahahahaha Lucy is so very loud! It's not really the loudness that gets to me, it's the pitch. I'm glad you got the little guy! I can't wait to see pictures!
