I have an oppurtunity to get a breeding pair of Green Cheeks and was wondering if you let them out of their cage, or are they simply happy alone with eachother for company - I know that cage size matters, but do they enjoy people's company or are they more anti-human-social - THANKS!!!

I have zero experience with this, but everything I've read on here seems to indicate that breeding pairs do not make good pets. Hopefully some experts will jump in here, but from my limited experience & reading, breeding pairs are not kind towards anyone but their mate

It depends on the pair!!! I have gotten a breeder pair of conures before and one was super friendly and hop out on her own and she was super friendly while the male was super mean. They came from a huge breeder that give them no interaction what so ever. She told me they weren't friendly...

If you are looking for breeding birds to join your flock then look for non breeding birds.

Not necessarily! When some breeders sell their pairs is due to them being infertile, less productive, incompatible, or not breeding.

To the poster, but yes you always have to remember they want babies! They will try anything to lay an egg!!!! They do not need a nest box to do that!

My breeders do come out of their cage and follow me everywhere in the house! It depends on the pair. I co-parent so I do want my pairs to be human friendly and I encourage interaction. They are way more friendly when they have an empty nest though! When with babies, they still come out of their cage but do not seek me.
