I am so sorry about your baby and very sorry how you lost your bird. I use to sleep with my Illiger's macaw while I was watch TV on the couch he would cram his body into my neck and it was very hard to move around with him lying there. His feathers and talons tickled my neck but he loved to lay on my neck.
Upstairs in bed when I was very sick I use to sleep with my Eclectus. He would lay on the side of my face with his head on top of mine. He would watch over me while I was napping and could only be taken from me if I was awake. I never slept over night with the birds but I have sleep with them with naps.
Your story breaks my heart. I am sorry for your loss and it is my hope that another parrot can be part of your life.
