Sprite the cinnamon green cheek conure.
Well last night Sprite was sitting on his perch and he was pulling one of his legs up to his chest. I thought he was just going to sleep, but today he was on his playgym and he kept doing it. I got him to step up so I could look at it. I didnt see anything but his foot was really hot. What should I do?

Pyro sleeps on one foot. I read that this is a sign that they are happy. He didn't do it the first two days I had him, but every day since then he has. Sometimes when he is just sitting there he will pull up one foot. It's always his right foot. I think this is normal behavior. Maybe someone with more experience will comment. I have only had Pyro for 5 days.

Well Ik birds sometimes do that but the thing is this one foot he pulls up is always hot. I was looking at it today and it has something on it..could be blood but it could also be blue berry so idk.....

I also read they do it to keep warm. Maybe that foot is hot because its up close to the body? I would be concerned though if there is blood on the foot.

When Puck holds one foot up to his chest it comes down a lot warmer than the other one. Is Sprite limping at all? How does he feel when she's on your finger? Can you gently examine his leg yourself to see if there are tender areas?

Sun Conure named Halo.
Are his nails clipped or short?
I had a bit of a panic attack when I discovered that Green had cracked/split one of his nails and had bled everywhere overnight, but I couldn't see where, because he was hiding his foot when he favoured it. It was a very slight crack but enough for blood to come out of the quick.

if it's still there, put a little peroxide on it, like, use a q-tip to apply it, if it immediately fizzes and bubbles, it's blood.

My BCC did the same lift his right foot up the second day he was home, he lifts his right foot when he's chilling...haven't seen him sleep on one foot do.
