Kayak is making some progress!

My Dusky is very protective of me and doesn't like anybody other than me. My mother tries very hard to get Kayak to at least tolerate her. My Sun gets along with my mom and will hang out with her. Kayak (my Dusky) will normally hide in the corner of her cage if my mom comes in the room. My mother always offers her a treat of some sort and talks to her. Today it was a walnut earlier in the afternoon and pieces of an apple after dinner. Both times Kayak came up and took them from my mom through the bars instead of hiding in the corner!!!!!! My mom got so excited and practically yelled "OH MY GOD! SHE TOOK IT FROM ME!!!!" and scared Kayak into the corner D: but after a minute she came back out looking for more. She hung out at the front of her cage and listened to my mom talk to her and she didn't act aggressive or anything. (sometimes she attacks the bars or hisses at "strangers") This is the first time Kayak has ever taken anything from my mother. It makes me very happy and to have it happen twice in one day is a miracle. Hopefully she'll keep up the good behavior and maybe, MAYBE one day Kayak will decide that people other than me aren't scary.

Oh wow! Congrats! My bird is the opposite with people wants to be with everyone to the point of ADHD. Hahaha.
