1/3 Cockatiel seed

1/3 Rowdybush

1/3 cherrios

The vet also recommended that I give him vegetables and not too many grapes, as well as give him whatever meat that I am eating, does this sound like a reasonable diet? My bird wont eat vegetables to save his life and keeps picking at the above mix, also where do I find a good without seed sunflower seeds that I can mix with this?

I would either stick with the Harrison's or Roudy Bush pellets as the largest part of the diet. Skip the seeds and Cheerios except for treats. If the bird isn't eating though, that's a problem. You need to provide whatever food the bird was used to eating before you had it, and then convert it to the pellets. Birds have a very high metabolism and require a lot of energy for perching, climbing, flying, etc. It can become an emergency very quickly if it's not eating.

Then later you can introduce vegetables, and some fruit. They can also have some muliti grain breads, pastas and brown rice. Grapes are popular with birds but they don't have a lot of nutrition. Mango and kiwi are better for conures.

The vet said I should have the 1/3 seeds so he could convert to the pellets does that sounds reasonable?

I think chicken and scrambled eggs are good proteins for birds. My conure loves scrambled eggs.

I would never feed ground beef. No matter how well it's cooked, it still contains trace amounts of E.Coli. Even large macaws have gotten sick because of it, and our smaller birds are just much too small for any.

I would give chicken and turkey and yes, scrambled eggs are good, too. Other meats are probably a little too fatty. Cooked beans are also a good protein source.

And yes, if converting to pellets leave a bit of seed for now. Once the bird starts eating the pellets, you can start putting in more pellets and less seed each day until the bird is fully on pellets.
