Hey everyone! Well, I have had my GCC for about 4 months now. She was hatched in July so she's still young. Just a small update. :)

1) Oddly enough, she LOVES my cat. They have become best buddies and keeping them apart is near impossible. Luna (my gcc) is always cleaning my cat and snuggling with her. My cat and Luna even decided to take a nap together while Luna was tucked under my cats chin. Luna will take rides on my cats back as she walks around and everything. I have never had an issue with my cat showing interest in her besides as another companion. It is very strange. I know this is bad because I am aware at how dangerous cats can be to birds. I know that even a small nip from my cat can kill a bird. I would have no way to separate these two unless I locked the cat up while Luna was out. I'd feel bad about this. It's not fair to my cat and also I'd feel like I was taking away my birds friend! They go everywhere with each other...

2) Luna hates any kind of music that has voices in it. She will get so angry and start screeching if I play it. She does, however, LOVE classical music. We've been jamming out to Beethoven lately. :)

That really is cute even if it does seem a bit risky. Hope that they continue to be best buds and nothing ever happens.

What an awesome update!

I LOVE that Luna and your cat are such good friends. I had good cats before too, with my old cockatiel Chaco...never had an issue, it's like they knew the difference between the bird that lived IN the house and the wild birds outside.

Luna is BEAUTIFUL!

I can tell she's well loved and cared for.

:)

I have Franklin, our yellowsided green cheek. I have a couple videos on youtube if you search Nakiska2...they'll come up.

thanks guys :) It is very cute. I'm not gonna lie though, it does make me nervous on occasion. I have two cats. Luna hates one cat and loves the other. Figure that out. She will lunge, attack and divebomb my other cat. I dont get how she chose to adore one cat and despise the other. I honestly wonder if it's a mating thing. I have caught Luna rubbing her bum on my cat once before. Maybe she is being protective? Or maybe it's time for a bird friend if she's trying to mate with a predator. haha.

LMBO! mayyybee.

This is awesome though. I had a cat growing up who loved my parakeets. She would let them climb all over her and do as they please with her. Sometimes things like this work out. It's great when it does. coz you get cute pictures like these :D & it goes to show animals have their own personalities.

Loqui hates Charlie (my cat). He'll seem curious and interested in him and just walk up oh so innocently and then nip him in the face or a paw & poor Char is just like 'WTH,bird!' lol. I feel bad because Charlie's so sensitive. He's a mix between shy and crazy so little things like that (even noises & sudden movements) will really scare him & he'll run off, but he'll be right back at it trying to make friends with the bird tomorrow lol. His curiosity gets the best of him.

Loqui loves my chihuahua though. But the chi is scared of him. Loqui tries to cuddle with him and Romeo will get up & run to me- even if he was just knocked out a second ago. & then I call Rome a punk because he runs to me for everything loll <3

My cat actually gets along pretty well with Rowdy and Merlin, but I can't trust her not to jump on the birds and roll them around. I wish I could, but I can't. And she and Pete had a tiff last night that made them both angry.

I had a cat before this one though that could be trusted with all small critters, and in fact was afraid of a lot of them.

It's nice to see they are such good buddies.
