I took some new pictures and a video of Penny today. She is such a goofball and I always try to catch her doing silly things on camera, but she's really camera shy. As you can see from the last couple pictures, she loves to wear her bell toy as a hat :D

I just love her colors; what a beautiful bird! Rowdy wears bells for hats, too. Sometimes she just sits there on the perch with one on top of her head.

I could not help but LOL when he stuck her head in the bell. Had not seen that before. Please tell me what kind of play set/cage that is. I love the small size with perch and fence/rail area.

Penny is just too stinkin cute! River has a big ss bell (looks like a cowbell really). He can fit his whole head inside to clang around lol. That bell ringing is usually the first thing we hear when we get home from work at night! Followed by Pepper whistles. :)

Thanks everyone! The camera on my phone stinks at capturing her true colors, so these pictures don't really do her justice. One of these days I need to try to get some pics of her with a better camera.

I know. Conures have that shimmery look with their feathers where you see all these different colors on each feather, but in pictures they just don't look like they do in person. I am totally fascinated with how pretty Rowdy really is, but you have to see them to really know.

That's so true! Sometimes I have to just stop and take a minute and stare at Penny because she's so shiny and beautiful. I love when the sunlight comes in through the window and shines on her cage. Her feathers practically glow!

I've also noticed most pictures of Nandays don't seem to do them justice at all. I've only really seen one or two of them in person, but they are beautiful birds! My dad actually used to have a Nanday years ago. We were digging through some old stuff and came across some old pictures of him. He was absolutely gorgeous. He seemed to have a lot more blue color than most Nandays

This is true. In photos Nandays look kind of dull and boring compared to Suns or a lot of other conures. But, in person you realize they have like 10 different shades of green, and the dark blue wing and tail feathers are mesmerizing. And the black on her head turns to a maroon colored line before going into the green (although that developed when she became an adult). And I love the turquoise breast and red leg feathers (although some people first think she is bleeding when they notice).

Pete has the prettiest eyes, but he doesn't shimmer and glimmer like Rowdy does. Although I expect he will be prettier as he gets his new feathers in.
