Okay so I rescued a pair of abused green cheek conures. I figured they were the same sex since I was told they never had babies (but now I'm sure they did, and the owner would just throw the eggs away). Anyway they recently began feeding each other and breeding. Today they had one egg. What do I do? I want it to hatch, of course I'm not going to throw it away. Will the parents know what to do with it? Or do I have to incubate the egg myself? How long do they take to hatch? What should I not do, can I still clean the cage while the egg is there? Will the parents reject the egg if I touch it?

Also, if I let the parents feed it after it hatches is there any chance the baby could still be hand tame?

Are you sure they were breeding? 2 females can lay eggs together without mating. Do you have a nest box provided for them? If not, get one if you want them to take care of the eggs. They will care for the eggs even if you touched them. Cage cleaning doesn't bother them really. The babies can still be tamed even if the parents raised them. BUT you always have to be prepared to handfeed if necessary otherwise don't breed them if you can't.
