Hi, everyone.
I'm an ex veterinary assistant and I'm good with animals in general. I've kept birds before but I've never had a parrot. I now work form home so I'm in the house all day and have lots of time to spend with a parrot!

I don't have children and never will. I have a partner who loves animals too : )

I'm really interested in buying an blue crown conure. Would one be suitable for me?

Can anyone offer me some advice?
Do they make good pets?
Has your bird ever been aggressive?
Are they friendly?
Would a blue crown conure attack my partner?

Thank you so much for reading. I will really appreciate any replies I get!

I have a blue crown conure. I have only had him about a month now, but he is such a cool parrot!! He is friendly to everyone and he is not aggressive at all. He talks really good for a conure. The only negative I can say is he can be really loud at times (usually for a short time in the morning and at night). But this is common for conures. They can have very ear piercing screams. But mine does not scream much at all. I think they are wonderful birds!!!!

My BCC is a wonderful little girl. She talks a whole bunch and knows how to say about 20 different things. She is very affectionate and always likes to be by me. I have noticed though she is a bit more stubborn than some other parrots i have had. AKA if she doesnt want to step off my shoulder she will hide behind my head where i cant reach her.... (what a brat) she is also very shy around strangers but mainly because i got her from a breeder and she hasnt met too many people. But after a short while she warms up to them and lets them scratch her.

My blue crown is amazing. He talks so well, and he also makes his own sentences out of words he knows. He's a little cautious around strangers, but warms up quickly and hasn't bitten anyone.
I think a BCC would be the perfect bird for you. (of course, I'm a little biased...)

Mine is great with everyone. He is (like the others) a little shy at first, but warms up fast. He doesn't bite. He is good with children. He has a really fun personality. He is just an all round fun, good bird! I think a blue crown would be a great choice!!!

Didn't you just post the exact same thing, but the bird was an eclectus?

Yes, I am undecided!! I don't know if I should get an eclectus or a blue crown. I like both and both seems suitable : )

I just wanted some more advice on them both
