Ever since we got JJ I noticed her bottom beak at the tip looks like it is peeling. It isn't getting worse or better though.

She is eating Roudybush, still gets some pretty bird pellets mixed in, she also gets 3-4 nutriberries at night. During the day she also shares fruits and veggies with me such as carrots, broccoli, plums (loves them), apples, bananas, and my children will give her a sliver or cashew or almond at night during their training times with her.

Is this normal, or could it be her diet? She went to the vet(not the greatest avian vet but I was sick so my husband just took her to our regular vet who really isn't an avian vet but does occasionally see birds). We are taking her in to see an actual avian vet soon and I will ask about the beak.

here is the best picture that I could take of her beak. She is roughly 3ish months old don't know if her age has anything to do with it.

Stitch the Blue Crown Conure
Conure beaks really seem to peel. Stitches beak looks positively leprous when it peels but then the layer comes off and within a week it looked very healthy. I freaked out as it was happening! His former owner confirmed that it seems scary but happens cyclically :)

If you post pics people can help assure you it's within the healthy range.

Yep as said normal. Beaks shed and peel as a way of renewal. Kind of like your fingernails.

Jewels just checked on my 2 that are the same age as your's, although mine have very little peeling it is still visible. I give mine bottle brush branches to chew on so that could be the reason. I will try & get a pic of them later.

She does chew constantly, loves wood toys she has chewed 4 wood chunks completely to nothing this week. But it has been like this since we got her and I doubt she had many toys offered to her before. Glad to know this is normal though.
