I am a new owner of a beautiful fancy green cheek conure named kiwi =)
So Kiwi's definitely warmed up to me and has no problem coming to the front of the cage to greet me, but she's started to do a lot of biting. when im feeding her some fruit or something instead of biting the food she'll start chomping my hand instead. what are some ways to get her to stop? :grey::grey:

How old is she? She could be going through her terrible twos and it is very important you correct it now otherwise she will grow into a biter. Try ignoring her when she does it and putting her back in the cage for a while. Also you cant make any "ouch" noises because they think its fun to make you do that. Try, if you are holding her, giving her a little "earthquake", shake your hand until she is off balance so she lets go. Also my babies respond to a stern "no" too, so you should say that when she bites.
Hope this helps.

Good advice, cdog. Except, I'd probably refrain from putting her back in the cage. She might learn to associate being placed into her cage with being punished, then start protesting or biting whenever it's time to go in the cage altogether. Instead, placing her on the floor for a time out might do the trick.

She may not be ready to eat out of your hand yet, so I wouldn't force her to, either.

she's not even a year yet. she hatched in july of 2011. she's fine with crawling onto my head and playing with my hair, or crawling onto my legs or arms or something but whenever i put my fingers near her she bites.

I have a sweet voice and a "parent disapproving" voice tone. I used the same words repeatedly and stopped the fun activity when she would bite: "don't bite" in a very deep n strong voice and turn away or stop the play. She does not bit me any more. It took a long time and patience. I only see my parrot every few months and will be in full possession within the next 6 months. Training should go faster w daily contact.
