Hello!
First of all I am sorry that I did not presented myself and my conure to the community before asking any question. I would like very much to socialize with other birds keepers and hope that this will happen but first I am very concerned about by 8 months old jenday conure called Bob;

On his beak I found yesterday two white spots that you could barely observe, so I did not gave much attention.
But today those had expanded and it seems that happens considerable fast;
I will attach two pictures and also links for them:

https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B5UI5U79XHSZQW1MZzRWcEhYOTA

My bird is extremely active and playful, no behavior changes;
Today when I was playing with him(I assume that is a he),and suddenly he puked(or regurgitated) some food that he eat;

Regularly I provide to my bird various types of food like seeds, apples, peaches, oranges and carrots.

Today when he puked he eat apple, seeds and peach;

If tomorrow the spots on his beak will grow even larger I will take him on a vet .

Please advise me if you can on how should I handle this, if it's a threat to my bird's heath;

I am appreciating your time reading this;

Thanks!

Hello and welcome to wonderful forum of bird lovers. Read up on the phases of birds beaks and sloughing of layers until smooth. You photo looks like the early states of that to me. I was very concerned when I saw the same thing on my bird's beak. Best thing you could do is to put abrasive surfaces in your birds enclosure to enable normal self grooming of exfoliating keratin from the beak. Best thing I did was to put a beak buffer stone in the cage. It too my bird a long time to realize what it was for but her beak is really smooth now.

Beak buffer: http://reviews.petsmart.com/4830/11107664/pollys-pollys-pet-beak-buffer-reviews/reviews.htm

FYI Apple seeds are toxic to birds.

Thank you for this quick reply!
So this is not a real threat, man I feel released :)

I will read the articles about beak phases tomorrow.

Now I feed a lot better after posting your reply, and I will take some rest ( it's late in Romania :) ).

Thanks also for the warm welcome, knowing that this forum is active I try to make use of it at most as I can.

Have a good day! :)

* Man I love this bird :)
