Cheeko- Sun Conure 7.5± Months Old
Hi All
Our Sun Conure :orange: we bought from a pet shop had his wings clipped while he was in the pet shop before we bought him , he is about 6 months old i guess. I Dont think he knows how to fly because they were clipping his wings while he was at the petstore , But was wondering If he doesnt know how to fly , once his flight feathers grow back would he be able to learn how to fly?
Thanks.

Yes, he'll be able to learn how to fly. He'll just need to build up his flight muscles and learn the finer points of manauvering in the air. Flight itself is instinctive, and birds are born knowing how to do it. They just need practice to become good at it.

Sometimes when babies are clipped way to young they never master flight well.
I recommend you take him into your bed room and standing over your bed very gently(GENTLY!) toss on to the mattress. This helps build wing strength and he will learn coordination. Do not do this until he has grown his flights in though. THis technique is used by many trainers to introduce birds to flight.

If he is 6 months old his first adult molt will be around nine months or so.
