Hello forum members,

I recently posted a week or so ago about the untimely passing of my beloved GCC, it was a difficult time but I believe I found a bit of peace and comfort knowing he was gone but still within reach (my front yard). Everything happened so suddenly and while I am thankful that I spent his last entire day together, I have noticed odd things with my dogs in my home recently. This past week my boy Chihuahua (Monty) began acting strange around my home, he was never close or played with Koa but he acknowledged that he was associated with me as a family member. As of late he has been sleeping with us but has slept odd or has found it hard to settle down for the night, when I wake up he wakes up and is in a "Watch" mode like as if he is waiting for something. My fiance noticed last week that he was walking around the upper level of my home while staring up towards the ceiling which he never does, I though how odd and then realized that Koa passed away in the room next door to where we were at.
While I have not seen him or heard him I feel like he is not gone, last night I woke up suddenly at 2, 3 amish and was covered in goosebumps. I could have sworn that I heard a racket, something tapping on my window trying to get in or along the lines of that........I know I am not crazy, has anyone here ever had a similar event happen with a beloved departed feathered friend??? Please refrain from negative comments as this is a true life experience, this is a 1st for me.

Thank you all!

Well, I do believe in ghosts and have experienced them several times in my past two homes. None were animal. Your dog may be missing your little bird even though they were not friends, so to speak. Either way, draw comfort that he may be near and watching you from Rainbow Bridge.

Yes, I think it is possible. He is probably just saying bye before flying off to birdie heaven!

I truly believe in all of it. I have never experienced it with pets, I have experienced it with family members passing. When my great grandmother passed away my entire family woke up at the exact time she passed on. We got the phone call an hour later telling us what time she went. It was so odd that we all woke up when she left us. My father experienced it twice. Once as a kid sleeping on a bunkbed with his foster brother. They had switched beds the night the foster brother's grandmother passed away and my father was woken up at the time she passed on feeling like somebody was shaking his shoulder saying "goodbye, goodbye". Another time he dozed off while boiling eggs and shaken awake by what he thought was his grandmother saying "it's burning, Skip. It's burning!" and when he woke up the pot had started melting and was smoking.

I truly believe in ghosts and spirits. Your little feathered friend may have been saying goodbye before moving on. I always joke that when my time comes I'm going to come back and rearrange things on people. I'll change the way dishes are put away and all kinds of harmless, but irritating fun.

I am a believer ever since my uncle died.Almost all of his watches were found on the date and time he died and his phone called my aunts. You're not crazy I think your bird is just reminding you that he'll always be with you and your family:)

I guess I am not the only believer :)

But things seemed to have settled down a bit, it was hard coming to terms with it and I hope he was saying goodbye, wish I could have heard his call just one last time though. Since then it has been all too quiet in my home but I had a fortunate gift from of all people my mother. She more or less gifted me a baby Blue Crown Conure...........I feel so guilty but at the same
time it makes me so happy, fills the void from my Koa, I hope hes not fliping out on the other side of the rainbow bridge :(

When I was a child I got to pick a kitten for my birthday. They were lilac siamese. We went to this house where there were all these animals kept in bad conditions, home breeder of dogs and cats. The poor kittens were covered in fleas. We took one because we felt sorry for them. The kitten I picked was a boy and we named him Elwood Blues:) What we didn't know then is he was born with feline lukemia. He lived for about 5 years.

Anyway, after he died I was about 12 and I swear I felt Elwood rub against my leg while in the kitchen and when I looked down I saw white for just a brief second. I thought it was Elwood since he always did that and then I remember Elwood died. Very weird but something I remember. Probably why I still talk to my Westie Pete who died last July. If any animal was going to haunt me it would be Pete!

It's just a weird thing I guess, since we are taught more or less that animals may have spirits and not souls. It's just strange to me how these guys know we loved them and choose to come back? It's made me question a few things lately.

It is possible. Our dogs all have done this weird thing. They stare up at the ceiling in a specific spot from time to time. It happens more as they get older. We swear they must be seeing our other pets who have passed.

:green: I have had my bird for 3 years now. we had rescued him from a home that had a bunch of dogs who were always scaring the bird.
so we named him cash. he had lost a lot of his feathers due to stress. but since he has been with us. he has never flown out of his cage at night. or go off like he being attacked or something. this goes on in the dark and during the day. we never close his cage, unless one of our toddler grand children are here. other than that. the cage is always open and he is free to fly any where any time. but he mainly loves to sit on top of his cage. or on my shoulders.
I have taken pictures from my yard. and some how got an image of 2 spirits. but my dog and my bird gets along very well. my dog will come to the bird rescue if needed to be. they get along great. cash even gets free rides on raider's back. but my bird will fly in on me and / or my bed. or down stairs. he will go off like he is scared and this will last about 10 to 15 minutes. we have heard noises here that were odd. and since I caught some unexpected picture of this. I know my home has spirits. and they must be nice people too. they like to play and all. unscrew light bulbs to make us think the light burned out. little stuff like that.
but i'm wondering. when my bird goes off like this. is it due to the spirits.
the dog ( raider ) he will lay there like a big rabbit. and stick his ears up. and watch the bird and look around too. i'm wondering if he hears them but cant see them.
( ( ( ( ( ( I have posted a picture of the yard. clearly you can see I am standing the middle of an alley in the back of my home.
if you click on the picture it should open a window to see it better. there you can see 2 different ghosts. I believe one is a boy and the other I am not sure of. the other looks like it is back by the house. and the closer one of the boy looks as if he down by my garden coming at me. perfect shot. ) ) ) ) )
{{{{{{{{{ another thing about this is. I didn't know I had taken the picture and caught them. I had actually posted the picture onto my facebook account. and a friend seen it. contacted me. and told me to go look at my picture closely. when I did. it was no dout in my mind that we surely do have spirits. }}}}}}}}}}}}}}
if anyone can help me clear this confusion up. I would be more than great full to you.
thank you so much

Welcome to the forum, aunturmomma. :)

I do see something in your picture, but I have NO clue what it is.

If you truly seek answers, may I suggest you contact your local or nearby Paranormal Society. :)

I believe your bird was saying goodbye to you. Thats so cute :)
Gosh, all these stories are giving me chills, I believe that animals have souls like us, and that they can do what you explained.
About 2 years ago my sweet cat, Peter passed away from old age. I still miss him extremely. I thought about him just today. The year anniversary he died we went to where he was buried to bring him flowers. When we got closer we noticed fireflies flashing in the trees. When we got very close the fireflies in the nearby trees were going NUTS. It was so beautiful, it looked like christmas tree lights, but prettier. Each one looked like it was flashing just on time, and there were hundreds in each tree. The next year we couldnt make it there. It could have been like, firefly mating day or something but I think it was a sign of Peter. He was the biggest angel cat on the planet, never hurt us one single time in his entire life. I had a dream about him recently where I saw him outside. I knew he was dead but in my dream he was a spirit and I was very happy to see him :D

While Ive not yet seen spirit of animals or human loved ones I am a very spiritual person. My mum passed away almost a year ago (May 13th) and I got Peanut after speaking to a friend of mine who is a medium and she also talks to animals! I asked her if mum had any news an she said that I had been wanting a new birdy friend and that now was the right time (this was in dec) and that the right bird for me was just around the corner time wise. Peanut and I are meant to be together. I had a cockatiel who passed away some years ago and I have sensed him around playing with Peanut, who does seem to "play" with an unseen bird.http://http://www.lesleyanderson.com/

They look more like smudges on your camera lens. I say that because if you look at them closely, it looks as if they are closer to the camera than the background.

Having said that, I do believe in ghost, but I don't believe in that ghost hunter crap on TV. :p

My old house was clearly haunted. He had a fan with a knob switch (The fan was on the ceiling really high up), the only way to control the fan was the knob switch. I would turn the knob all the way to the off position and out of nowhere the fan would kick on. I go to the knob to check and sure enough it was turned up fully! Also doors would slam in my house out of nowhere. We also had a shower with a sauna in it. The sauna broke and would not work for a while (Saving to fix it. :), out of nowhere the thing started working, it just turned on. Needless to say we all got in, and thanked the ghost. LOL

While I was still living in that house my Uncle passed away, that night I woke up and there was a face just staring at me. I moved my hand through it, and as you can tell I felt nothing. That is the only thing that has ever freaked me out and made me jump out of bed. The funny thing is, I never thought of my house as haunted, and I was never scared. I didn't think about it until after we moved out. I was like, that house was haunted. It took us getting a house that had no activity in it to really realize what was going on in the other.

As for animal ghost, I believe we don't pay attention sometimes to how much are animals really feel for us. I do believe that a life force can continue on for a while. I think it's Gods gift to not only the living but to the dead. A way for us to say good bye to someone if we did not have the chance before we died. I think people forget that animals have personality and souls. I really believe that our animals will meet us in heaven. I would believe heaven would be really boring if God did not have his creations with him. :p

I had a scary dream about my bird. I think I worry so much that he is so small and fragile that it manifest in my dreams (I hope anyway, and it's not a sign. :). I was in a park with my bird and my wife. He had a suit on, but out of nowhere he got spooked and flied straight to me. He flew so fast he crashed into me and broke his neck. I sat there watching my bird die, not able to do anything. Like I said, I just hope it's the fear of him being fragile to me and nothing more. I don't really believe in dreams being able to tell us the future.
