My girlfriend and I are the new owners of a Gold Capped Conure. ( photo: http://i.imgur.com/8mtOb.jpg ) Unfortunately no name as the results of DNA have not come back yet -- soon I hope. Born 2/9/12. We just brought him home Sunday.
We both work long hours, but fortunately I am close enough where I can go home on lunch and spend some time with him, and then return a few hours later and keep him out of the cage for as long as possible. We purchased him from Todd Marcus Birds Exotic in Delran NJ. They gave us a cage and we bought the adjustable rope perches and plenty of toys (that he chews into oblivion)
Are there any tips for first time owners? Is it ok to start taking him out when we go out in public? I want my bird to bond and trust me more. Any help is greatly appreciated.
