Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum; I'm a new sun conure mom! I have a smaller cage but someone gave me a large cage, 3 feet X 4 feet X 5 feet and the bar spacing is one inch. Is that too big for a sun conure? I don't want to risk her head getting stuck in the bars if that's a possibility. Thank you.

I don't have conure experience. but simply put, your bird should NOT under any circumstances be able to get their head through the bars. (when thinking about this remember their skulls are thinner than they appear with feathers).

That is the same cage I have. Mine is dark colored though. On the specs of my cage it said my bar spacing was 3/4 inch. It is much closer to one inch. My birds have never gotten their heads in there and I have seen them pressing their heads against the bars. I take the top off of my cage daily also. It kept down the cage aggression. Also just gives them more play space.
