I've introduced Tybbi to a couple of cat toys like the ones I see in youtube videos.

He'll bandy the ball back and forth, but I've noticed bite marks. I've seen him beaking the ball, and it looks like nothing had been flaked off to be ingested, but I am worried.

The toys have since been removed from the cage, but should I be worried?

I'd use anything like that with supervision and discard them at the first sign of breakage. Scooter is extremely fond of some balls with rattley bells in them, but they do routinely break, so he only gets them when he's out of cage.

Cool, thanks for the advice!

Tybbi will still get the toys, only when outside the cage. I'll see if what wooden toys he can chew on - I've got a couple, but he is finicky...

Scooter likes balsa wood, he won't much chew on the stuff that's hard work, but he goes through the balsa pretty fast!

I picked up some of those dried yucca "slices" at the vets office. Pritti just leaned his beak on it every now and then for about a month. Today I saw him playig with it, picking it up with his beak and tossing up so that it flips over before falling back down. He was pushing it around, cruching at it. It was around 10 or 20 cents. What a find.

About the balls -- have you heard anything bad about golf balls as toys. He has one and likes to push it around on the rug with his beak, and roll it and chase it. I kind of figured that if it can handle all those hard whacks with metal golf clubs, it should be safe as a parrot toy. What d'ya think?

My dog plays with golf balls all the time. In his case, I think it might have chipped his teeth from catching them in his mouth. Since you are not playing catch with the parrot, I don't see why golf balls would be a problem.
