Green Cheek Conure named Arthur!
what's going on!?!? crowley was loving neck scratches until recently. any time i'd start to scratch, he makes his like "rrrrrrrreeeeeeekkkkkk" noise and nips at me.... tonight though, he finally was sleepy enough for me to get a good look at his head, neck, and cheeks, and he's got pin feathers up the wa-zoo. i don't know if he's old enough to be having a molt, and he hasn't been losing any of his big feathers to have to re grow new ones...

what's normal here guys? is it totally normal for a 3 1/2 month old to be having this many pin feathers? is he just not fully feathered yet or something?! I'M BEING AN OVERBEARING PARRONT BUT I JUST NEED SOME PEACE OF MIND.

thanks!

I can't imagine it's a problem, growing in feathers.... the ones around the head and neck, there are so many tiny feathers there, they can look a bit like pincushions...

Pin feathers are a good sign. New feathers means more colors!
