Penny's first shower

I finally set up the shower perch that I bought a while ago, so I decided to give Penny her first shower today. She has always enjoyed splashing around in her water dish, so I figured she would like the shower. She absolutely loved it! She was so excited that she talked and whistled up a storm the entire time. We will definitely be doing this on a more regular basis!

Here are a couple photos I took of her afterwards. They aren't the greatest quality since my bathroom is kinda dark, but I thought they were cute anyway.

What a cute bird. What kind of conure is she?

Ive been curious of getting one of these perches. How long do you let him in the shower with you?

Thanks! She is a Crimson bellied conure. She was in the shower with me the whole time (approximately 10 or 15 minutes). I didn't leave her directly under the water that whole time though.

Thank god most conures enjoy water. Lucy loves shower time. I usually take the water in my hand and then let it run down her back. I gently scrub her belly and butt with my index finger to make sure she's getting clean in all areas. She sits quietly on my finger with these expression on her face like "oooh, ahhh"

Of course, you can't deny the wet look is cute.

Nice! I've been wanting to take my bird in with me while I do my 'real' shower. Right now I do a fake shower for 2-4 mins where I would get wet first then get take him under the gentle spray with me.

Id like to bring him when I take my real shower, it will be 15-20 mins. I can put him on a perch but I was worried of prolonged exposure to hot mist, soap and shampoo foam, toothpaste and mouthwash smells and all that. Is there anything to worry about?

I have to try Scooter in the shower again, he seemed intimidated, but Penny looks as if she had fun!
