About three weeks ago, Pepper had an accident that left him with a bald spot. His flight feathers had grown back and he was testing them out. I looked away for one minute and already he'd had an accident. He clipped his head on something and tore out some feathers. I quickly scooped him up and cleaned the area with some water and was happy to see that he wasn't bleeding.
I've kept an eye on the little spot and he now has replacement feathers sprouting. They really grow quickly once they pop out of the skin! I also kept an eye on his behavior in case he had a really terrible accident and nothing changed. At the time I was unable to afford a vet visit but I think he'll be okay. Just a silly bird making a silly mistake!
