Weird "lump" on wings?

I've noticed it since I've had my baby or at least since she let me touch her:p. She has, on both of her wings, a little bumps. They feel like a little bones or something, don't have any weird colour and you can't even see them. I can only feel them under my fingers and when I lift up her wings I don't see nothing much abnormal. Is this just a normal thing and I panic too much or should I be worried?

it would be odd to have tumors or anything in the exact same spot on both wings. I feel lil bones in the wings everytime i pet my babies.

Scotty -- Male Cape Parrot hatched somewhere between 2007-2009 we think

Caballo Blanco -- male C
Do they correspond to any of these bones?

I think I could correspond them to this picture but I'm not really sure because I cannot check it while the wing is splayed out. Those bumps are symetrical but I will probably ask the vet when Lou will have her check up.:D

That's usually the wrist/shoulder area and completely normal.

What you want to be aware of however is the preening gland, how it should feel and look, and what it should not be like. The preening gland tends to freak out a lot of people as it has a little "wick" feather sticking out from it which is different than all other feathers that birds have.

But the preen gland is nowhere near the wings, just to be clear.... it's on the back near the tail!

Deb, that's correct. Not everyone is aware of the preening gland nor what it's supposed to look like, hence bringing it up.

The bumps are probably more than normal and nothing to worry about, so was bringing something to attention that may need to be monitored every now and then to be sure it's working correctly.

Ok, I've wanted to refresh this post a little bit. Louie bathed today and one of those lumps is visible (i haven't seen it before, even when she bathed). Here are some pics:

I don't see anything weird in her behaviour. Well, she has a weird "tic". Sometimes she nervously wave her head, it looks like she doesn't control it. Sometimes she flies like crazy right after that.

But she has two bumps placed symetrically on both wings, so I don't really know...

It's hard to work out exactly where the bump is on her body from that picture. I checked Birdy's whole back and the base of his wings around that general area and found nothing like that.

Is the bump is on the wingtip? Or can you circle the area on a picture like this:

I'll check Birdy again for you if you do.

My GCC has the same thing--2 symmetrical "bumps" that feel like elbow joints on her wings. I feel them when she has them folded, exactly where it looks like your bird's bumps are. They're easy to feel when I gently run my hand down her back. They feel so much like joints to me I actually hadn't given it any thought before I saw this post. I know very little about conure anatomy and diseases, but I'm pretty sure they're just her "elbows".

Here's the pics, pretty confident you're just seeing your birds bone since it's it in the same spot as Rosie's. if you still unsure call your avian vet, it's better safe then sorry.

On the left side of the image where Rosie's wing is bald you can see the joint from underneath that's visible in the above photos.

No worries, that's what we're hear for :D It's actually really nice when we know the answer rather then only being able to say contact a vet. A lot of my friends brought Rosie's joint to my attention too, and random people when I bring her places so your not the only one who thought it was bad.
