my sun conure (breeding pair with old owner) are now with me from past one month. their cage size is 4 feet cube. and i have introduced the box which is 12 inch cube with 3 inch entrance hole. (i asked earlier regarding the size of box but no body replied :orange:)
they love to go in the box, mostly at night. love to chew on wood bar which is in the box

need suggestions regarding housing and box size

The box sounds like the size for a Cockatiel which would be ok, but I made my own before for Conures and I made it a bit bigger then a Cockatiel size. The entrance hole they will chew it to their liking if it's a bit too small. Just make sure you provide calcium supplement like mineral block and cuttle bone with good quality food along with fruits and veggies. Then you just have to be patient.

i have a bigger box available with me which is 12 x 12 x 18

i hesitated to change the box because i left one 2 inch thick wooden stick in the box for them and today i checked it is half chewed ... i wondered might be that wooden stick in a resistance.. but its still there...

mineral block is there along with cuutle bone ...

i have one more question... they dont like to eat from the floor of the cage ... if apple or corn is on the floor then they dont eat at all ... just love to get from bar spacings
