- Margret-Mealy Amazon 28 (family parrot), Petri- Peach Front Conure 4, Chloe- Congo African Grey 24 and Rio- Blue Crown Conure 4 !! :D
So I messed up and was looking at bird stuff on craigslist and found a blue crown that needs to be rehomed because she lives in a small duplex and I guess he is really loud. He's about a year old.
She says he is friendly but wasn't hand fed, loves to sit on you and go everywhere with you, talks a bit and is pretty nice.
I don't know where to even put his cage and I don't even know if Petri will like having a friend or if they will get along for supervised play time. I think he is much larger than Petri. I feel so committed now that we talked on the phone and all the emails, I feel so guilty!!!
Should I back out of this since it's not a perfect time ( I'm going to be buying about 500$ in books in 4 days for school) and I don't know what expectations I should have for a companion bird that wasn't hand fed...if any. I feel like maybe I jumped the gun, and someday I want a IRN or an ekkie instead of now taking in 2 birds that were rehomed to me that I didn't personally pick as my own pet...... ARrrugh. Not to mention the huge commitment of keeping this bird for 30-40 years that might not even like me. I guess there is no harm checking him out and I can just be honest if he isn't for me, but I just feel so committed and I shouldn't have to feel that way.
