My boyfriend wants a true blue gcc... and all i keep finding are turquoise.
we were trying to figure out if there is a real blue mutation that is different from the turquoise or are they just labeling one mutation into two different color groups?

I don't know if it's different in the UK and the US, but here in the UK when I got Tich he was labelled as a 'green cheek blue bodied conure'. Bit of a mouthful! But no, there is no different other than the words.

So far, there is no blue mutation in green cheeks, not even in the UK... they are still turquoise! Hard to say if there will ever be a true blue mutation or not though...

Peachface lovebirds do not have a blue mutation, but they have two par-blue mutations.

Budgies have 3 different par-blue mutations and a blue mutation.

Cockatiels have one par-blue mutation and one blue mutation.

Indian ringnecks have one par-blue mutation and one blue mutation.

I would love to see a true-blue GCC someday!
