maroon bellied conure
I have had Rico, my maroon belly conure, for three weeks now....up until now he has barely made a squeak. Now last night he was making more noise than ever....constant squeaking and little squaks, trying to fly, being generally hyper....
started off today a little like that too....I am just wondering if conures get their moods like humans do....and also hoping this isnt the new 'normal' :)

Yes they get moods like us lol.. all birds have moods.. my sun is usually happy go lucky, unless you make him mad, then he squeaks and will put his beak on you(not bite) then as soon as you say OK and pet his back he'll do his wing slap and squeak again...

My scarlet will let you know when he wants you to mess with him or not...

My amazon is like my sun, she's easy going for the most part.. but they can all get over stimulated..

Also if it turns its back to you and stays that way... I take this as "I need some me time"

Also watch for cunning birds.. my macaw was like this at first.. he'd be fine, then he'd puff his back feathers and bob his head.. and still say "come here" and put his foot up..then he'd bite the crud out of ya and laugh.. he was this way in the morning... he's apparently an evening bird.. likes late nights.

But every bird has its unique personality and way it will display its moods... at least mine do lol. Good luck with your flock :)

Pepsi and sprite, both are American male budgies
Birds get moods a lot, like us. They can be grumpy in the morning or angry at you because you didnt give it enough millet or sun flower seeds lol
