Sun conure and cockatiel.
My sun conure shares a cage with a cockatiel. The cockatiel is 3-4+ years older than the conure. The cockatiel is the family bird. The conure I got for my bday making it my bird. My parents promised me a cage for her but due to lack of space and my parents don't want it in my basement we were forced to make the conure live with the cockatiel. They fight time to time and the conure seems very territorial which shocks me because the cockatiel is a older male who lived in that cage alone for at least 4 years now. The conure is less than a year old and when I first got her home she was nice. Nibbles but never snapped and bit hard. Now after about 6 months living in the cage I take her out every day play with her a bit try to train her and more and more she's getting more aggressive. Usually she lets me scratch the back of her head and under her wing but now she's squealing a bit and snapping at me and its hurting more than a typical nibble.

2 questions. 1) is sharing a cage with the cockatiel making her more aggressive?
2) what are some ways to get her to stop snapping at me?:orange:

It might... but your conure is also growing up and maturing. It's possible that something is upsetting her, or maybe she's not feeling well. You need to find out why she's acting that way before you can truly stop it.

It would be best to get your conure her own cage. Someday, your conure may get upset and seriously injure yor families tiel.

I once kept a cherry head and a cockatiel together and there were no adverse effects because of it.... however, I never planned on allowing them to share a cage so I never forced them to live together...
