Hello,
I've learned about many different birds in my search for the right match, and Green Cheek Conures have really called out to me. Although I have read many things about them, I was wondering if anybody could tell me about their personal experience with green cheeks.
Would a 30x18x18x flight cage be big enough for it? I would love to eventually get a much bigger one with a stand and all of that, but currently don't have the funds. Here's I link to the one I'm considering: Petco Designer White Finch Flight Cage - Finch Bird Cage and Flight Bird Cage from Petco.com
Thank you!

That cage is pretty small. I'd wait until I had all the funds ready to get a new companion and to have it be happy right of the back.

Could you perhaps recommend a cage? There are so many out there, I don't know where to start! Most of the larger ones have bars that are too far apart.

I have an HQ flight cage and it provides a LOT of room for a little bird! It's currently sitting empty as I now have an A&E Double Flight (was wishing it was an HQ!) that provides more room. The single flight was $100 that someone bought from a sugar glider website, then never set it up so it was brand new out of box! And the double flight I paid $200 for, and it previously housed finches. The finches were sold separately, which was fine by me as I didn't want them! And the person who bought the finches didn't want the cage! :D

Here's a pic of my single flight cage.

Thank you everyone for the recommendations! I'll wait to get a big cage-I was thinking about getting this one: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Prevue-Products-Wrought-F040-31-Inch/dp/B00176F5L0/ref=sr_1_1?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1355408327&sr=1-1&keywords=prevue+flight+cage"]Amazon.com: Prevue Pet Products Wrought Iron Flight Cage with Stand F040 Black Bird Cage, 31-Inch by 20-1/2-Inch by 53-Inch: Pet Supplies[/ame] .
How much attention does a green cheek need, and what toys do they like?

They do need quite a bit of attention. You are their flock and they like being with their humans just like most parrots. MIne has wooden toys to chew, a boing to bounce on and climb, A swing, foot toys, a paper roll thru the top, a register tape that she likes to pull and chew, different types of perches, a toy made of rope and coconut halves, a toy I can stuff things in with a little mirror and I have been picking up a lot of supplies to make some toys for the fids.:)

Is it alright for them to be around a TV screen?

That is the cage I have. I have to say though - be prepared to rig up some ways to keep the doors closed. A parrot would figure out how to open them fairly easily, and there are six "food doors" total that have no latches or anything to keep them shut. We rigged up a bolt/screw/washers to hold those shut (one washer inside the cage, one washer outside the cage, both screwed onto the screw, with a bolt on the outside to hold it all together - basically the same idea as the rig that holds perches onto the cage) and clips like these to hold the actual doors shut; http://i46.tinypic.com/5ur877.jpg

Toots, a turquoise green cheeked conure.
Elliot and BB, lovebirds.
Mr. and Ms. Keet, parakeets.
I've actually found two of my birdcages at a Goodwill store, if you're tight on money, it's worth a try, as long as the cage isn't too small. No cage can be too big :)
