Personality - Sun and Jendaya Conures

I've done 90% of my research & now I want personal opinions from owners themselves.
You might see this in a dif. category, about a dif. bird. I'm not spamming, I just want to hear from owners of these birds, and just tell me a bit about yours:
Personality - Nippy? Moody?
Cuddly? - Can he stay on your shoulder for a while or will he be jumping around?
Demanding? How demanding is he attention wise?
Bonding - How did it bond?
Maybe getting one soon! Let me know about yours!
Jez

Re: Personality - Sun and Jendaya Conures

Ok, what can I say about my sunny... Aside from the fact that she's my "baby" ...

Is she cuddly, 100% yes! Not in the least nippy. Is she demanding and bonded to me ... Yes (sometimes too much so), and some of that is my fault ... There are many stories of sun conures being 110% devoted to their owners ...

Word of caution, once bonded to you both will not be a cage bound bird ... They will not be happy with being left in a cage all day. Best thing you can do is establish a routine that incorporates "alone" and "together" time ... Establish this routine early and stick to it and it will make your life much easier ...

Thanks.
I wanted a Sun - theyre among the most beautiful parrots, imo.
I read theyre too nippy somewhere and some other some stuff - but your post gives me a lot of confidence.
I'll need to get him into a cycle like you said, along with the breeder I was talking to.

Re: Personality - Sun and Jendaya Conures

I know my sun conure is not nippy, never has been , now if he doesnt know the person, I tell them not to just put their hand up to him, hes not comfortable enough and he will grab them. When new people come to my house he likes to fly to thier shoulder and just check them out, he just looks them over, and if I dont let him do that....then he screams, lol.
Everyone has different experiences with thier birds, the good and the bad.
He loves to cuddle, right at my neck by my hair, it took a long time for him to let me pet his back.
We bonded cause I was the one taking care of him..feeding and whatnot. and spending the time with him.
There are times that his screaming can get real nervey...when he just keeps doing it, but I wouldnt trade him for anything, he is one of my kids so I love him either way.
Here in our small town he even goes to the stores with me, just small ones and they think its cool.
But they are more demanding then a cat or a dog, thats for sure.

Our Jenday is very bonded with my wife, not really nippy, but does not like you messing with his food when he's eating, screams when new people come over, will bite new people, our problem is he is spoiled and we did not establish a routine, he's very loving with my wife, myself and son.
We went on vacation and took him over to my mother inlaws house and after a day he stopped trying to bite her and bonded a bit, but wouldn't let anyone else touch him.
All in all, their great birds if you can get past the screaming/squawking
